The Bean Counter was started by, well, a bookkeeper. A bookkeeper with a long history in the coffee world, from sidewalk coffee cart barista to coffeehouse manager to counting beans for a few local San Diego cafes. Together with his artist wife, the bookkeeper set about creating a neighborhood spot where local residents and business folk could go and enjoy (1) a delicious cuppa, (2) some good conversation and (3) some fine artwork.
