Cake Pricing & Flavors
Pricing and Serving Details:
We always like to be very clear with our clients on pricing of City Cakes products, and each custom cake is custom priced based on many different factors. All quotes will be provided via email and not over the phone, simply to help keep track of all details and with customer service in mind!
City Cakes’ custom cakes are normally charged per slice and/or serving. Our prices for custom cakes start at $10 per slice for fondant cakes for a basic but beautiful design. For cakes covered in buttercream, prices start at $8 per slice for a basic but beautiful design. For either option this is the starting point and from there the price will go up according to the complexity of the design and work involved.
Elements like sugar paste flowers, figurines, other handmade sugar details, custom painting, logos and more can affect the price of the cake. The price always reflects the amount of time it takes our artists to put such elements together, and the high prices of these special ingredients.3D, shaped and structured cakes are also a little more expensive due to the amount of work we have to put not only outside the cake but also inside, with the internal structure required to bring it to life! 3D cakes typically start at $500 for the smallest cake size we sell (25 servings), dependent on the concept.
Typically we start any cake with a 9-inch cake as our base, serving up to 25-servings or so. Please understand that if you request a cake for 5 people, we almost always start with a 9-inch cake, and in these scenarios we will tell you how many servings it will have and will price accordingly.
Tastings & Ingredients:
We welcome you to contact us to determine whether a consultation and tasting is possible! Unfortunately, all tastings and consultations need to be scheduled in advance, as tasting plates are prepared especially to your requests and specifications.
All of City Cakes’ products are made from fresh ingredients and we never, ever used premade mixes. We pride ourself on the fact that the insides of our cakes taste just as remarkable as the outside looks.
Any of the flavors with an asterisk besides it is sold in our shop as part of our Gourmet Cupcake assortment every day. Those particular flavors can be tried on the spot in our lil’ basement shop! Pricing for flavors below may vary somewhat due to the ingredients and process involved, but that will be part of the conversation when we make a final quote.
